15. Kill Bill (2003, 2004)
This epic story of revenge comes to life on the big screen thanks to the gifted writing and directing of Quentin Tarantino. Uma Thurman plays the unnamed bride in the story, brutally assaulted on her wedding day by Bill, and the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.
However, they didn’t finish the job, and Thurman recovers from a coma in hospital to come after Bill and his crew. The film is full of gratuitous violence, a common theme in most Tarantino movies. However, the filmmaking, directing and the screenplay is as good as it gets, with scenes delivering non-stop action from beginning to end.
Broken into two separate movies, Kill Bill has to be Tarantino’s best action movie ever, with outstanding choreography and an excellent, original storyline that keeps your attention the entire way through the two-part series. The film also benefits from the incredible acting talents of Lucy Liu, and David Carradine.
